Over the years, I’ve realized that my quilting style lies somewhere in between traditional and modern. I especially love to mix classic with contemporary and use traditional blocks with more modern fabric or an unusual block placement.

When I saw Vanessa Christenson’s new Ombre Confetti Metallic line for Moda, I knew it would be the perfect fabric to re-imagine the log cabin block. I used the fun, sparkly fabric with an on-point block setting to design the Confetti Cabins quilt.

I chose some of my favorite free motion quilting motifs to do graffiti quilting and used extra strips from the backing fabric as the binding so it would blend in nicely with the front and the back.

The free Confetti Cabins quilt tutorial can be found over on the Moda Bake Shop blog HERE. I am in love the combination of this fabric and pattern, but can also imagine it in a lot of other pretty prints! If you make your own Confetti Cabin quilt, please share it with me on social media by using the hashtags #confetticabinsquilt and #centerstreetquilts.

Happy Sewing!
