My friend Lindsey over at Primrose Cottage Quilts is talented in so many ways–she’s a quilter, blogger, and pattern designer, plus she runs a long-arm quilting business with her mom! She recently quilted my Valentine Swoon quilt for me and I absolutely love it! This is the first time I’ve sent a quilt off to be quilted, so I felt totally spoiled. It was awesome to just magically have my quilt show up back at my house ready to be bound!
I chose the “Soho” design and the whole process was super simple using the Primrose Cottage online order form.
I made five 24″ Swoon quilt blocks last year and decided to only put four on the quilt top. I didn’t want the last one to feel left out, so I pieced it into the center of the back and am so glad I did! While I love how the front looks, the back is definitely my favorite!
I am so happy to have this quilt finished and I’m not sure that we’ll make it to next February before getting some snuggling time in with it! 🙂
***GIVEAWAY CLOSED*** Donna Simpson (@donna.w.simpson) was the winner. 🙂
Primrose Cottage Quilts did a fabulous job with my quilt and I’m so excited to share with you that they have offered to do a giveaway for a $75 gift certificate for long arm quilting with them! Yipee!

Your quilt is beautiful! I have several quilts I could send her because I have tons of quilt tops in the waiting to be basted stage. I made a purple quilt out of scraps of fabric and it has tons of empty background so that that is probably the one I would send Lindsey. The quilting would really stand out.

Love the Valentine Swoon Quilt! I am currently working on a Full Bloom pattern for my granddaughter using the Farmer’s Daughter fat quarter pack. It is turning out to be a little more challenging that the “ambitious beginner” instructions indicated. However, I am going forth and thinking of my sweet granddaughter with every cut and stitch I make. I would love to be considered for the long arm prize giveaway.

Kristina, I love your quilt. I have only sent one quilt out to be quilted and bound so I know the feeling you describe. The one I sent was an over size King size bed quilt started by grandmother. She loved red so she cut pieces from the three grandchildren’s clothes and added scraps leftover from her sewing and my dad’s sewing. All different shade of red. She hand piece about have the blocks then had to machined pieced some. When she passed I was given all her sewing things including this top. I finished the last two blocks saved the money and had it quilted. Every December 1 this quilt is put on my bed for the holidays. I would never been able to quilt this myself. It was just to big for me.
Now I have a quilt I just finished and I am ready to quilt. And while I think I can quilt it, with everything else I have to deal with right now, like my husband’s medical issues and my 85 yr old mom who is closer to being 2 years old, time behind a sewing machine is a luxery. The quilt top I have finished is my interpretation of spreading your wings taking flight…and I plan to give it to my granddaughter who graduation high school May 2017.( Yes I am behind.) I found my Quilt style when I found Christa Watson’s blog about 4 or 5 years ago. She introduced me to Modern quilting . This quilt is made from her first fabric line call “Modern Marks” and the pattern is a mash up of several patterns and blocks I liked in other quilts so I did my thing and mixed it up.
I love the pattern on your quilt and I want to try that design myself. For the top I finished I want to take motifs in the print and use them in the quilting. Sound fun.
